The Future Looks Bright

Posted in Audio/Visual, Gear, Uncategorized, Video on September 22nd, 2009 by admin

Photos by Geoff Oliver Bugbee

The PDA Production Team has trekked this week to Louisville, KY for another Idea Festival. The conference motto is, “If it can possibly go together, it comes together here.” I can almost hear the hum of brilliance. Only at Idea Fest will you have the following in the same space having conversations, sharing thoughts and ideas: 3-D Chalk Artist, Astronomer, Filmmaker, Illustrator, Social Entrepreneur, Human Rights Activist, Farmer. And Anthony Bourdain, in a category all his own. All brokers of the future in their fields. Read their bios for some inspiration.

PDA is honored to be supporting the festival with lighting design and equipment, audio systems, staging, sets and video. Todd St. Onge, James Leonti, Brandon Robertson and David Ham are creating the production and gearing up for tomorrow’s start. Stay tuned for photos.

PDA and Mustard Seed Faith Ministries Collaborate on an Expansion

Posted in Audio/Visual, News, Uncategorized on September 17th, 2009 by admin

Founded in 1974 as a Christian bookstore by Pastor Datha Thomas, Mustard Seed Faith Ministries has moved its campus to the bustling Chatham Parkway area in Savannah to better serve its growing ministry. Included is a 300-seat proscenium style worship auditorium. Church Administrator Kempie Womble was faced with several challenges right off the bat, including a smaller performance stage with a low ceiling and a DIY budget. His project team included Minister of Music Rev. Dennis Maddox, Creative Arts director Brian Friday and dozens of volunteers. Womble contacted Marty Huntoon with PDA needing design services for the lighting, AV and video production systems. Huntoon provided the conceptual design, equipment, document package and project supervision while MSFC staff performed all the installation.

“This was a great combination and effort with Mustard Seed Faith Ministries and PDA. We achieved the goals what we set out to accomplish and it turned out beautifully, said Huntoon.”

The Lighting System includes:
Altman Spectra PARs
Spectra CYCs
Apollo Smart Color Scrollers and Right Arms Jands Vista S1 console
Doug Fleenor DMX Processing

A Who’s Who night for the Charleston fashion world. They all came out last week to the fabulous Terrace Hippodrome for the Charleston Fashion Week 2009 Documentary Premiere produced by PDA Video. The documentary boasted an artful glimpse into the five-day event, with peaks at the rarely seen backstage areas, interviews with the people that make it all happen, designer profiles and much, much more. Following the premiere, the party moved to the lovely new patio at Shine for an evening of fabulous food along with cocktails from Gentleman Jack and Grey Goose.

Congratulations to Charleston Magazine for another cutting-edge project. Stay tuned for details on the documentary release.
